Children really start to grow now in their ability to make decisions having to work out social situations, eg on the school playground and having to understand what is and what isn’t acceptable behaviour. All the interactions they have learnt in the family home begin to come into play. Do they shout, ignore their peers to get what they want?
A child may start to blame themselves for what is happening with their parents depending on how the parent/carer handles the situation.
Key Point – Parent/carers are the most influential figures. How you behaviour creates how you child will conduct themselves in their own social environment.
