From clients

Rachel

Has had a positive impact on my son’s confidence and their 1-1 peer mentor Alex was fantastic and has given my son the confidence he needed. Thank you both Steve & Alex for supporting my son!

Louise

Steve has really supported me and been there whenever needed. If he didn’t have the answers he would sign post me in the right direction.

From the community

Steve has been working in the Sudell area of Darwen where I am the local PCSO. I have worked this area for over 5 years and can honestly say it is one of the most deprived areas in Lancashire. The people, and in particular, the children in the area are very hard to engage with. Steve has successfully engaged with the most problematic youths in the area and he has gained their respect and that of their parents.

Since Steve’s intervention I have noticed a reduction in Anti Social Behaviour in the area and feel that Steve has played a large part in this.Steve is a professional and enthusiastic member of your team and I would not have any issues recommending him for any future projects you may decide upon.

Please pass on my thanks to Steve for his invaluable work with the vulnerable people in Darwen

We have had a constant ASB problem for the last 8-10months with mainly males aged under 16. Myself and colleagues were struggling to work with them as they were initially uncooperative and didn’t want to engage.

When I was introduced to Steve and his brilliant ideas I genuinely could see light at the end of the tunnel. We have been working closely together building trust and a relationship between the Police and the problem youths and this couldn’t have been done without Steve and his work.

He has helped us to lower the amount of ASB that goes on in the local area and his knowledge and ideas have helped greatly.I hope to continue to work with him in the future as he has been a great help and his efforts have been truly appreciated.

Steve has been working with a group of boys in both schools – one to one work around anger issues, gang culture, self-esteem, confidence to name but a few. Steve has engaged the young people in a creative and challenging process that has explored the consequences of their choices they make around gang membership and also with other issues they may have. Steve has been able to use activities and strategies to suit the needs of the individual young person both in group sessions and one to one work.

All the young people have engaged with Steve and look forward to the interventions and challenges he brings. Steve has worked closely with myself and other agencies especially the local youth centre and police. This has enabled us to be able to combat situations in a multi-agency  approach and which has had a huge impact on the ASB in Longridge. The reports from the police are there has been a reduction in crime and anti-social behaviour in the area and also improved behaviour in school. Steve has been proactive in involving outside agencies and working in the community around restorative justice to combat anti-social behaviour.

Steve has been totally reliable, conscientious, professional and overall a great team player and a pleasure to work alongside.

Steve will be missed greatly by staff, police and especially the young people in the schools.

I understand that the funding for this project is due to come to an end. This is most unfortunate as this type of work which has been delivered is so important in schools and in the community and has made a big difference to people’s lives.
